[Pre work]
No tech experience? No problem!
Once you become an official Ironhacker, you will be given 20 hours of online learning material. To get you ready for learning Cybersecurity, this prework will familiarize you with computer systems (what is a computer, how it works and what are its main functionalities), operating systems (main operations, processes, file systems and sytem commands), and networks (principles, types, protocols and configuration). This knowledge will set you up to have a productive and meaningful learning process during the course.
[Module 1]
Building Cybersecurity Foundations
You'll start off by developing your Cybersecurity mindset, from being introduced to the ins-and-outs of the industry to learning the most important hands-on concepts needed to break into it.
Starting off with the foundation of security, you'll learn about networks, exploring their architecture & communication principles, network & routing protocols, traffic analysis, network security principles and get your first overview of the OWASP Top 10.
You'll get practice in working with Virtual Machines (VMs), allowing you to start getting hands-on practice and apply the theoretical skills that you've already acquired. You'll get to work on the creation and analysis of critical network servers, analysis of network topologies, mapping and OS Fingerprinting, encrypting and decrypting data and media, backup and recovery...to name a few!
[Module 2]
Digital Forensics and Ethical Hacking
In this module, you'll explore both defensive and offensive aspects of cybersecurity.
First, you'll dive into network security, covering firewalls, antivirus tools, intrusion detection systems, and the basics of symmetric & asymmetric cryptography. You'll gain hands-on experience with access control, and network defense tools. Next, you'll delve into malware analysis, learning to dissect and understand malicious software using various techniques and tools.
This module focuses on digital forensics, teaching you to investigate digital threats and analyze digital evidence. You'll also venture into ethical hacking, where you'll learn offensive tactics, including reconnaissance, exploitation, and web application hacking. This dual skill set equips you to detect and respond to threats effectively in the cybersecurity field.
[Module 3]
Malware and Dealing with Incidents and Threats
In your final module, you'll gain comprehensive insights into securing digital landscapes by exploring network security architecture, Secure Design Principle & Risk Management techniques, and access control methods. Practical hands-on activities with various security tools and technologies ensure that you can confidently handle real-world security challenges.
The module also delves into threat-intelligence and ethical hacking, arming you with the offensive techniques needed to understand cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability assessments, forensics, and incident response processes. You'll gain an understanding of identifying cybersecurity breaches, insider/outsider threats, and the incident response life cycle, including relevant assessments and protection planning.
The module culminates in a group project where you'll complete a capstone project where you'll apply the skills and knowledge you've learned throughout the course to a real-world cybersecurity scenario. You'll also present your research project to your peers and your submit final deliverables for graduation.

FAQ
Do I need my own laptop?
For our Master, you'll need:
- Processor: A modern multi-core CPU (e.g., Intel i5 or higher, AMD Ryzen 5 or higher).
- RAM: At least 8GB (16GB or more is preferable for larger machine learning projects).
- Storage: A solid-state drive (SSD). We recommend a minimum of 50GB but 256GB for faster data access.
- GPU: Since you'll be using TensorFlow, if your computer is GPU-enabled, NVIDIA recommends GPUs with CUDA support. The specific CUDA architecture compatibility will depend on your deep learning models and libraries. It's advisable to have a GPU with CUDA 7.0 or higher.
Note: If you're using a device that doesn't belong to you (e.g., a company computer), ensure you have full admin rights.
Will I get an official certificate after completion of the program?
Ironhack provides a private certificate that proves the program was completed. The masters are not recognized by the traditional standards of the Education administration. Due to its intensive and hands-on format, it wouldn't be possible to adapt the content and schedules to the official requirements. However, many companies recognize Ironhack for the quality of its education and the potential of our alumni.
What financing options are available for the masters?
We offer various options to help you fund your master, and each case is evaluated individually to find the best solution for you. Whether through payment plans, scholarships, or external financing partners, we strive to make the bootcamp accessible to students from all backgrounds. We want you to focus on studying, not on financing, which is why we tailor all financing plans to your specific situation. Apply now, and we’ll provide the details you need.
