Miami’s AI Future: A Hackathon for Innovation and Progress

Join the official eMerge Americas annual Hackathon in partnership with Ironhack + powered by Kaseya during Miami Tech Month! During this 48 hour hackathon, teams will utilize AI to build a project and present their demos to a panel of judges.

The winning team will win a $10,000 cash prize, tickets to React Miami conference, valued at $650, and an opportunity to present their project at the opening of Miami Dade College’s AI Center on April 18th. In addition, each participant will receive an eMerge Americas Tech Pass, valued at over $500.

eMerge Americas and Ironhack have teamed up again this year to present the annual eMerge Americas Hackathon!

Over 100 developers, designers and tech enthusiasts will be tasked to create an innovative and unique solution using AI that drives impactful progress within the Miami ecosystem. Our hackathon is designed for anyone to participate, regardless of skill level. We encourage beginners that are interested in web development and design to participate and interact with other hackers and industry mentors.


The general theme for this hackathon consists of creating a tool using AI to drive innovation within 3 specific industries in Miami. The industries and specific guidelines will be disclosed the day of the event.

eMerge Americas is the premier technology conference transforming Miami into a global tech hub. Venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and technology innovators from across the world will experience the latest advancements in technology through interactive exhibits, live workshops and product demos at the state-of-art Miami Beach Convention Center on April 20+ 21, 2023.

Ironhack is a global tech school that was created to disrupt the way tech education works! We empower students to create a new path with our tech bootcamps - one that leads to meaningful careers in software development, product design, or data analytics. It’s with this mindset that we’ve become one of the key global players in bridging the digital skills gap, serving both those looking to get into tech, as well as the companies hungry for tech talent.

If you love to code or design web applications, or are interested in learning about the process, you are more than welcome to participate in the Hackathon. We strongly encourage team registrations as we compete to see who is the best tech team in South Florida! We also welcome you to sign up as a free agent and we will assign you to a team that will be the best possible fit. Teams can have anywhere from 2-5 members.

The registration deadline is April 7th at 11:59pm EST.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a creative event for programmers, designers, and developers to gather, share ideas, and collaborate on a project intended to solve a real-world problem.

The hackathon is open to anyone who is 18+ years old.

Do I need a team?

We encourage you to join as a team, but if you’d like to participate as a free agent, then you will be assigned to a team shortly after registration.

I’m not a coder, can I apply?

Hackathons are not only for programmers! Participants from different disciplines are equally as important to create a well-rounded project. We encourage designers, data analysts/scientists, and anyone interested in building something innovative to apply!

We welcome participants from all skill levels, so don’t be afraid to come and join us! You will have the opportunity to learn from your teammates and industry mentors.
