ONLINE PREWORK

Get bootcamp-ready and hit the ground running with essential training in basic ML concepts, including Python fundamentals, descriptive statistics, probability, inferential statistics, and math foundations (calculus, linear algebra, analytic geometry). No matter your previous tech knowledge (or lack of it), this first module will make sure every Ironhacker is set up for success.

You can begin the prework at your own pace as soon as you officially become an Ironhack student.

MODULE 1

Get an introduction to the foundations of machine learning, data science, Python programming, and data handling with SQL. Get to know the most common machine learning tools such as Python, Anaconda, Jupyter Notebook, SQL, Version Control (Git/GitHub), Pandas, and Matplotlib.

MODULE 2

Dive deeper into data cleaning, data structuring, statistics, and core machine learning concepts. You'll learn how to apply statistical concepts to your data problems and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders. 

MODULE 3

Dive deeper into specialized areas of data science, gaining expertise in either natural language processing or computer vision, and grasp the advanced techniques and applications associated with the chosen track. You’ll get practice deploying machine learning solutions with MLOps practices on industry standard cloud computing platforms and serverless frameworks such as Google and AWS.

Our new bootcamp can put you on the path to becoming an NLP Engineer, currently the most in-demand specialization in the data world.

The opportunities are there. Are you ready to go for them?

1. Fill out our easy non-committal Application Form.

2. Receive a call from Admissions, to find out if your motivations, long term goals, availability, and determination are a good fit for the bootcamp. It's also a chance for you to get your burning questions answered! 

3. Take a technical test in English to test your basic logic skills. This will also give you a basic understanding of the concepts you'll learn in your chosen track. No need to prepare—just make sure you have enough time to take the test uninterrupted. Once you have passed this test, our Admissions team will be in touch with you.

4. Choose how to fund your bootcamp from our selection of Financing Options and flexible payment plans. Consult your Admissions advisor if you're not sure which one is right for you.

5. Pay your deposit before the bootcamp starts to confirm your place.

Every Ironhacker needs their own computer, but you don't need the latest iMac to get the job done!

For our Data Science & Machine Learning Bootcamp, you'll need:

-Processor: A modern multi-core CPU (e.g., Intel i5 or higher, AMD Ryzen 5 or higher).

-RAM: At least 8GB (16GB or more is preferable for larger machine learning projects).

-Storage: A solid-state drive (SSD) with a adequate storage. We recommend a minimum of 50GB but 256GB for faster data access.

-GPU: Since you'll be using TensorFlow, if your computer is GPU-enabled, NVIDIA recommends GPUs with CUDA support. The specific CUDA architecture compatibility will depend on your deep learning models and libraries. It's advisable to have a GPU with CUDA 7.0 or higher.

Note: If you're using a device that doesn't belong to you (e.g., a company computer), you'll need to be granted full admin rights.

Ironhack provides a private certificate that proves that the program was completed. The bootcamps are not recognized by the traditional standards of the Education administration. Due to its intensive and hands-on format, it wouldn't be possible to adapt the content and schedules to the official requirements. However, for some campuses you can get public financing to study with us.

There are no knowledge requirements for our bootcamps. As long as you have sufficient proficiency in English, basic logical skills, enough time, and most importantly motivation, you're fit for a bootcamp. Each bootcamp has students from different backgrounds so if you're starting from scratch with your tech knowledge, you're not alone. The Prework ensures that everyone has the same solid foundation to succeed in the bootcamp.
